About Me

Hello! I'm Amy, I am 24 and live with my partner and our little family of two kittens and a hamster. Although I'm only just really starting my life, I have had a lot of different experiences and some not ones I want to remember! I want to start a blog, to tell my story and share some of my experiences old and new ...........

Vegan Supplies........Let's get crafty Mom!

In my quest to become vegan I am researching products to find one's that are suitable and affordable. I have come across this statement today whilst searching which I think says it all..................
I think people don't really understand how products are made including there food. Hmm how to raise awareness without preaching at people because that is not what I want to do at all. Such a tricky subject to tackle....
Anyhooo I did find some good products some of which I already use but just in case you aren't aware I shall share!
All Lush products are 100% vegetarian but you will have to check ingredients for completely cruelty free products, Amie skincare all has suitable for vegans on the packaging and Simple's packaging states contains no animal derived ingredients.

My wonderful Mother (http://magicalmeadows.blogspot.com/) is into crafty stuff and it is something that I am becoming more and more interested in. As ever with me it is just having the confidence to give it a go!
She's made various things over the years and not has a number of projects on the go.
I think I shall pencil some ideas and source some bits, then I shall wow you with my hopefully wonderfully inherited skills!

I have in the past taken my hand to jewellery making, I shall add some pictures to show what I have managed to produce so far.......... Patience isn't one of my strong points so I tend to have wonderful ideas then give up when they don't evolve over night. This is something I shall work on!!!
I have a week off work tomorrow so I intend to spend my time wisely and endeavour to complete some project which I shall set myself before the week is out!

Time for a cup of tea, a bath and to jot down some ideas for getting crafty!

Over and out!

Oh one more thing, here is another picture of the kittens. Norman was having a clean, the little white patch is on his stomach! x

A little bit more.....He helped me out of the dark

Today has been a very boring day, washing clothes and paying bills.
Whilst we are still at the beginning I thought it would be a good time to tell you a little bit more about me, and of course my little family.
We shall call my partner the Beau, we met a little over a year ago. He helped me out of the dark and we have not been apart since.
As I have already mentioned I have always been rather emotional. Over the summer of last year I began to feel a lot worse. After an admission to myself I finally went to see a doctor and asked for help.......
I have a severe depressive mood disorder and have to take medication daily to keep it under control. I have seen a number of doctors and have also seen some psychologists. My illness is very close to bipolar and as a doctor once explained it to me, if Bipolar disorder is £10 I am £9.99!
Some days are a struggle and from a year ago my life has changed a lot. I understand myself more, and I have realised how lucky I am to have the family and friends that are around me.
Anyway back to the Beau..... I had a lot of time of work and met the Beau on my return. We sparked off an instant friendship and I suddenly felt myself being pulled free from the darkness that had surrounded me for so long. I don't in anyway mean that my family and friends didn't help but the Beau just gave me that extra push back to normality.
He made me laugh again and I mean really laugh, to be honest he still does. We often find ourselves laughing so much sometimes I end up crying but it's all good.
Within a couple of months the Beau was staying every night and then earlier his year we began looking for somewhere to live. We now live in a lovely little house along with a few additions to the family!
The Additions!
We have a hamster who we named Roy, she is female so also is known as Royleene (thanks Mam!), Roy arrived with us last November. Then in April this year, The Beau's father found two kittens whilst digging under a bush on his allotment. I couldn't possibly have let them go to a shelter. So as of that day Lottie and Norman arrived, and what fun they are!

And that is us! I do hope I haven't bored you!

PS. My babies!!! xx xx xx

One of those days!

Where to start!
Do you ever have one of those days where you just think is this it??
I have always been quite an emotional person, and have always had an overwhelming feeling over injustice. I know I have it in me to fight for change, but where do you start...................................
I wish I had a magic wand so I could tackle poverty, animal cruelty, racism and a number of other things that just make me want to scream!
I've decided to make some changes in my life, I am turning Vegan (www.vegansociety.com) but it is something I won't be doing over night. I have always had strong feelings over Animal Welfare, I feel this is a step forward for me to help protect their rights and ultimately make my stand against Animal exploitation.
This is the beginning of a new chapter and I shall share the ups and downs, but for now it is time for a soak in the bath!
Until tomorrow....
A xx
